'Boxes for Troops' and Nancy Petosky looking for quite a few 'good men and good women'
By Frank Weir
Legal News
"Boxes for Troops," Nancy Petosky's group effort to send boxes of goodies to men and women serving in our armed forces, is looking for addresses for service people to receive the mailings.
Although Petosky can find addresses easily online, she would like to find service personnel who are connected in some way with local residents.
"If any of your readers know of anyone that would like to receive a box from home, we would love to send them one," Petosky said.
She added that the recipient does not have to be a local resident or native of Washtenaw County, only that he or she is known to someone here.
If you have the name and address for a service person, contact Nancy Petosky at Washtenaw County Trial Court Services at petoskyn@ewashtenaw.org; phone 734-222-3001 ask for Nancy or stop in to room 114 in the courthouse.
She quickly adds that, "We are also always looking for items and/or money for our boxes effort.
"I know that times are hard, but they are no way as hard as it is for these men and women who are serving our country. Please do what you can."
Deadline for donatons is Thursday, Dec. 1. Packing and shipping will be take place a few days after that.
