Law School students awarded fellowships
Ten second-year University of Michigan Law School students have been selected as Dean's Public Service Fellows under a program developed by Dean Evan Caminker to support students who choose careers that serve the greater good.
The program, funded by an anonymous Michigan Law graduate, recognizes second-year students each year who have a demonstrated commitment to public service. Those selected must intend to pursue public service legal employment during the summer after their second year of law school, in preparation for a public service law career. Fellows receive a $7,000 cash award.
This year's Fellows are: Catherine Glazer; Eli Braun; Jane Jankie; Jeffrey Mayo; Kate Gilbert; Kylee Sunderlin; Lara Finkbeiner; Megan Conway; Meredith Garry; and Sam Feder.
"We're delighted to announce this year's group of fellows," said Alyson Robbins, Michigan Law's Public Interest Director. "The Law School has always worked hard to keep all career options open to our graduates, and the Dean's Public Service Fellowships have gone a long way to ensure that our students can explore potential public service careers across a broad spectrum."
The current crop of fellows will pursue a variety of public service interests during the summer of 2012.
