The Wolverine Bar Association conducted its January general membership meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Detroit offices of Bodman PLC featuring Michigan Forward Chairman and CEO Brandon Jessup (fourth from right) as guest speaker. “We began a campaign to repeal Michigan’s emergency manager law in May,” said Jessup. “We want to definitely put it on the ballot for 2012 so the people of the state of Michigan can decide how we handle fiscal emergencies in our own communities.” Among those gathering to hear about Michigan Forward’s efforts were (l-r) Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Craig Strong, Chantez Knowles of Bodman, Michigan Forward Treasurer-Secretary LaToya A. Henry, Niesa Fagan of Bodman, Khalilah Spencer of Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, & Cohn LLP; Eric Mathis of University Bank; and Brandy Robinson of the State Appellate Defender Office.
