James L. Liggins, Jr., an attorney in the Kalamazoo, Mich. office of the law firm of Miller Canfield and the first president of the Pratt Bar Association in Kalamazoo, has been invited by the White House Business Council and Business Forward to attend a closed press conversation on Michigan jobs and the economy on Friday, February 10, at The White House.
Select Michigan business and community leaders are invited to discuss with the Administration how to increase jobs and support the economy in Michigan, with particular focus on Detroit.
Since 2011, the White House Business Council has held over 500 meetings with business and civic leaders to get feedback on how the Administration can support job creation and to make leaders aware of available programs and resources that can help them grow and succeed. Feedback from these sessions has directly informed Administration policy and the President’s plan to create jobs.
At Miller Canfield, Liggins is a member of the Litigation and Trial Group. He litigates all types of business-related torts and contract disputes. He received his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. His B.A. in Political Science is from the University of Michigan. He is an attorney coach for the Kalamazoo Central Mock-Trial Program and resides in Kalamazoo.
