Bank On Mid-Michigan shows early success

LANSING, MI--Since February 1, fifty-three Lansing area residents have opened second chance checking accounts and over three hundred have attended free financial education classes as part of the new Bank On Mid-Michigan campaign. The local Bank On campaign is designed to provide access to low-cost, high quality financial products and free financial education. Bank On is a joint effort of Asset Independence Coalition (AIC), Ingham County Treasurer's Office and the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM) and is funded through a grant from the National Community Tax Coalition (NCTC). "Access to low-cost, high quality financial products provides working families the ability to reach financial self-sufficiency. Bank On Mid-Michigan campaign partners are working to give Lansing area residents better access to these opportunities," said Ingham County Treasurer Eric Schertzing.
