Bill supports American made flags
On Flag Day June 14, Gov. Rick Snyder signed a bill ensuring state government buildings fly flags manufactured in the U.S.
Senate Bill 649, sponsored by state Sen. Roger Kahn, requires all U.S. and state flags purchased, displayed or resold by state government be manufactured domestically. Local levels of government are exempt from the bill.
"This is a great opportunity to promote American patriotism as well as domestic business," Snyder said.
The bill is now Public Act 167 of 2012.
