Law Day volunteers needed
The Washtenaw County Bar Association's New Lawyers Section is looking for lawyers willing to donate two hours of their time on Law Day USA on Tuesday, April 30.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at two locations: Ann Arbor Community Center, 625 N. Main Street; and the Ypsilanti District Library, 229 W. Michigan Ave.
During Law Day, USA, members of the public can come in for a 20-30 minute free consultation. Attorneys willing to contribute two hours will meet with up to four clients. Areas of the law needed the most are family, employment, landlord/tenant, probate, consumer, SSI/SSD, bankruptcy, general civil, foreclosures, real estate and landlord/tenant.
To volunteer, call Candy Newton at 994-4912 or email newtonc@ewashtenaw.org. Include what areas of the law you can be the most helpful in, and which location works best.
A minimum liability policy is required for participation.
