SBM calls for end to age discrimination for Judges
The SBM Representative Assembly approved a resolution calling for SBM Representative Assembly Calls for End to Age Discrimination for Judgesan end to Michigan's constitutional prohibition of appointment or election to judicial office of lawyers over the age of 70 at its April 27 meeting in Lansing. The resolution was vigorously debated and voted on after former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Marilyn Kelly delivered a presentation on the report and recommendations of the Michigan Judicial Selection Task Force she co-chaired with former United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Judge James Ryan.
