Attorney Association to host annual People's Law
This year's program comes to East Lansing at the Hannah Community Center
Lansing, August 19, 2013: The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ)(formerly the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association), along with Sinas Dramis, PC, and Wayne State Law School will host the People's Law School starting on September 10th. This seven-week program is open to the community and provides an opportunity for non-lawyers to learn about the legal system. The People's Law School Faculty includes judges, elected officials, seasoned attorneys and law professors.
People's Law School classes typically include a lecture (with a short break) followed by a question and answer session. Each participant also receives a comprehensive Student Handbook that contains outlines of the materials the speakers will be presenting. Students who attend five of the seven classes will receive a People's Law School Diploma. The cost for the seven lectures is $25.00.
"For over 20 years, MAJ and the Sinas Dramis Law Firm have successfully run the People's Law School program in Lansing, and during the years we have seen thousands of Lansing residents benefit from this program," said Stephen Sinas, an attorney at the Sinas Dramis Law Firm and Chair of the MAJ People's Law School Committee.
Classes run weekly from 7pm to 9pm and will be at the Hanna Community Center, 819 Abbot Rd. East Lansing, Michigan.
This year's schedule includes:
o 9/10- The Affordable Care Act, Stephen Sinas,
o 9/17- Hot Issues in Constitutional Law,
