It was a family affair November 15 when U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Damon J. Keith performed a swearing in ceremony for his granddaughter, Nia Keith Brown, a new attorney from Chicago. The ceremony, witnessed by Wayne County Probate Judge Terrance Keith came on the heels of a luncheon earlier in the day celebrating the release of Judge Damon Keith’s new book, “Crusader for Justice.” His granddaughter is a magna cum laude graduate of Spellman College, and now is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals following the swearing in ceremony. She earned her juris doctor degree from Emory Law School in Atlanta last spring, and currently works for Judge Ann Williams of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
