The Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) is currently accepting applications from law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, judicial agencies, and community/neighborhood organizations for enforcement, prosecution, community awareness, and prevention programs aimed at reducing automobile theft.
These grants are funded from assessments paid by insurance companies to the ATPA. Due to the limited funds available, a 50 percent hard match is required for all applicants, with the exception of non-profit neighborhood and community organizations. Funds must be utilized to enhance auto theft prevention efforts, not for supplanting current programs.
To obtain a grant application, visit: www.michigan.gov /atpa. The forms are located at the bottom of the Web page under ATPA Forms.
The Fiscal Year 2015 grant period will begin on October 1, 2014, and end on September 30, 2015.
Grant applications must be postmarked no later than June 2, 2014.
