Cooley Law student recognized for great deedstle

 Roselyn Gyampoh received the Great Deeds Award from Cooley Law School’s Center for Ethics, Service and Professionalism on July 11 at Cooley’s Center Lobby in Lansing, Michigan. Each term the center recognizes a student who goes above and beyond, offering support to individuals in need through the dedication of their time and talents. 

 “Roselyn carries her dedication to community service with her wherever in the country she lands,” said Heather Spielmaker, director of Cooley’s Center for Ethics, Service and Professionalism. “Both in the Midwest and the Southwest, Roselyn opened her home to immigrants and young people for mentoring and support, often giving up her valuable weekends off from school.” 
Through Gyampoh’s work mentoring immigrants, she has opened new doors for many, counseling them on opportunities for education, career advancement, home ownership, and financial management. 
Gyampoh offers bereavement and divorce support through her involvement with her church and helps young people understand how to resist peer pressure. 
“When we put the call out for nominations for this award, I heard from people whose lives have been touched by Roselyn in South Bend, Arizona, and right here within the Cooley community,” said Spielmaker. “I have never had so many nominations for a single person for this award.”
