The 30th annual Silver Bells in the City is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 23. The event brings together family and friends from all over Michigan to celebrate the holiday season.
To celebrate 30 years, the event will feature even more activities and special outdoor performances, all highlighted by the 18th annual Electric Light parade which steps off at 6 p.m., from the corner of S. Washington Square and Lenawee in Lansing.
Silver Bells in the City welcomes Radio Disney who has partnered to bring a very special Disney friend straight from the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida who will serve as the Electric Light Parade’s first Grand Marshall. The Radio Disney Road Crew will host music, games and prizes from 5 to 6 p.m., before the parade starts, on the steps of the Capitol building.
After the parade, crowds will gather round the State Christmas tree for a holiday sing-a-long led by The Larry Callahan and Selected of God Choir. The skies will then light up with a fireworks display over the Capitol dome (weather permitting), followed by a performance by pop group AJR. Santa and his reindeer will be at the Lansing City Market; and Silver Bells Shopping Village, on East Allegan Street between S. Washington Square and Grand Ave., will feature holiday crafts, homemade treats and more.
Breakfast with Santa will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at Troppo; and Saturday also features the Silver Bells 5k at 10 a.m.
