Celebration honoring Judge Filice set Dec. 5

A celebration honoring the service of Judge Charles F. Filice will be held 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, at The Lansing Center, 333 E. Lansing Ave, Lansing.

A district court judge since 1971, Filice is a Lansing native, and attended Lansing Community College, earned a BBA from Western Michigan University, and his JD from Wayne State University Law School. The former Chief Trial Attorney for the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, he was one of the youngest judges in the history of the State when he assumed duties of District Court Judge in 1971. He is a member of many community service groups and law organizations, including State Bar Committee on Standard Criminal Jury Instructions.
The celebration, that includes hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, costs $20 payable at the door.
All net proceeds will go to Mother Teresa House of Lansing, a home for the terminally ill of any faith, culture or background.  Care is provided at no charge to the guest.  Any additional contributions are welcome and can be made that evening or online at motherteresahouse.org.
