Local lawyer writes of the lawyer?s life

 Recently released “Why do We do That, Commentary on Lawyers and the Law,” by Roberta M. Gubbins is a blend of humorous, poignant and thoughtful essays describing the life of the lawyer — in life, in court and in society. The essays reveal the inner workings of the lawyer’s mind, a mystery to all but the lawyers themselves.

Read about the “joys” of being raised by a lawyer (The Lawyer Parent), how snack foods can be used to pick a jury (Voir Dire Made Easy) or using acting techniques in the courtroom (Black’s Law Meets Shakespeare). The essays were written and published over the many years Gubbins practiced law.

Gubbins is a writer and a lawyer. After practicing law for a number of years, she traded her briefcase for a laptop and took up the world of letters.
