MSU Law professor nominated for an NAACP Image Award

 Michigan State University Law professor Brian Gilmore has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for his latest collection of poetry, “We Didn’t Know Any Gangsters,” on Cherry Castle Publishing 

A poet, writer, public interest attorney, and columnist with the Progressive Media Project, Gilmore is a Cave Canem Fellow (1997), Kimbilio Fellow (2014), Literature Fellow for the D.C. Commission on Arts and Humanities (1997), Pushcart Prize nominee (2007), and winner of the Maryland State Arts Council's Individual Artist Award (2001 and 2003). 
He teaches law at MSU, where he lectures and writes on contemporary issues relating to housing and economic inequality, dividing his time between Michigan and his hometown, Washington, D.C.
Winners of the 46th NAACP Image Awards will be broadcast live on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 on TV One. The awards presentation will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, 300 E.
