What is your most treasured material possession? I would like to say my sanity if that can be considered a material possession.
What advice do you have for someone considering law school? Are you sure you want to do this? Because you will get gray hair quickly. It is a scientific fact.
Favorite local hangouts: My basement, watching TV.
Favorite websites: I stay away from them as I have seen through my law practice all the trouble they can cause.
Favorite app? Clash of Clans. I am a clan leader with my youngest son.
Favorite CD: Any Beatles album.
What is your happiest childhood memory? My wife tells me I am the fourth child in our family, so my childhood is still ongoing. Check back with me in 10 years.
What would surprise people about your job? The practice of law isn't really about the law. It is being able to listen and read people so that you can connect with them. You have to have intuition as to what someone needs/or has done. Anyone can apply the law, but if you have that instinct to feel a person's pain or can put yourself into their shoes for even a minute, than you will be a great attorney and person.
What do you wish someone would invent? A full three-course meal in the form of a pill. Just like Willy Wonka did. Would save a lot of time.
What has been your favorite year so far? I count by decades, not years now. I think that changed when I turned 30. This past decade I have had ups/downs but pretty much watching my kids grow and excel is what I enjoy.
What is your most typical mood? Is laid back a mood? If so, then its me.
Why did you become a lawyer? My father told me to be an attorney. "Listen to your parents" is how I was raised.
If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would that be? Anyone who can get a full six hours of uninterrupted blissful sleep. I would trade places with them.
What's the most awe-inspiring place you've ever been? Rushing home in the car with my kids in the middle of a tornado watch with a tree crashing down in front of us on the road. Mother Nature is powerful. I was inspired to get home ASAP.
What did you do last weekend? I took my family to go see "Big Hero 6." I now constantly say, "I am Baymax" anytime anyone says "ouch" at home. Go see the movie and you will get what I mean.
If you could have one super power, what would it be? Speed. But I must already have that as I am always in three places at once, or so I am told.
What would you say to your 16-year-old self? Keep reading. I always had a book in my hands.
What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? Recently it was when I saved a home for a couple who tried to get a modification on their own and got stuck in the big banking nightmare. It's a different feeling when you save a family's home and their "American dream!"
What do you do to relax? I like to fish a few times a year. Its more hanging out with the guys and no phones, on the lake, catching a bass/pike.
What word do you overuse? I have been told it's "per se." Must be the attorney in me.
What is one thing you would like to learn to do? Find Bigfoot. I tried a few years ago with my kids, but only found a clump of his hair. We saved it in a Tupperware container if anyone wants to come see it. Smells awful.
What is something most people don't know about you? That I am Sikh (pronounced "sick," not "seek" as some would think). But then again I do have a sick sense of humor.
What is the best advice you ever received? Work hard. Play hardâ?¦or is that a Nike slogan?
What do you drive? Over 300 yards.
What would you drive if money were no object? I would think the same because the top of the line driver would only add 20 or so yards to my drive.
Favorite place to spend money: I didn't know there was such a place. However if I had to choose, I would spend money on my kids. (Can't pick a single place as they do so much. Not like when we were growing up and we had ONE thing going on.)
What is your motto? Do what you have to do so you can do what you want to do. In essence work hard.
What would you like carved onto your tombstone? According to my youngest son, who is going to be a heart surgeon, I don't have to worry about this as he is going to invent a heart so I can live forever. I will make sure he has a patent on it before it goes into production.
