Stefanko becomes shareholder at Loomis

Michael G. Stefanko became a shareholder of Loomis, Ewert, Parsley, Davis & Gotting P.C. in Lansing, effective Jan. 1. Stefanko, who has been employed as an Associate Attorney and Senior Associate Attorney with Loomis since November 2007, brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience as both an attorney and Certified Public Accountant, concentrating his practice in real estate law, including affordable housing and condominiums, tax law, business and corporate law, oil and gas law, and alternative energy law. Prior to becoming an associate at Loomis, Stefanko worked in the tax department at Whirlpool Corporation. While specializing in state and local income tax, he helped the company deal with income tax and financial accounting matters. He previously clerked for the Michigan Tax Tribunal, dealing with a variety of property tax and state income and business tax issues. Stefanko earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Central Michigan University and his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. Prior to law school, he worked for Yeo & Yeo, P.C., CPAs and Business Consultants, as a staff accountant, in the firm's Lansing office, and specialized in the audit of low-income housing tax credit properties and developments, while also gaining both tax and audit experience with non-profit, for profit, and governmental agencies.
