Brad Brelinski named to the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority

Brad Brelinski, an attorney with Curtis & Curtis, P.C. in Jackson, was recently confirmed to a term on the Jackson County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (JCBRA) Board by the Jackson County Board of Commissioners. The JCBRA, staffed by The Enterprise Group, can "provide companies an opportunity to build a tax base, rejuvenate decaying infrastructure, establish a good rapport with the community and revitalize depressed urban areas." "I'm looking forward to serving the JCBRA and assisting local businesses with redevelopment opportunities," Brelinski said. "Jackson, and Michigan in general, has a great history of manufacturing and innovation. While we have competed against globalization over the years, I firmly believe that manufacturing is here to stay and has a bright future. I am excited to play a part, however small it may be, in Jackson's comeback." Brelinski, who concentrates his legal practice on business law, litigation, estate planning, probate and trust administration, and real estate, earned his BBA, cum laude, in 2002 from Western Michigan University with an emphasis in finance. He received his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2005. After graduation he practiced with a business, bankruptcy and creditors' rights firm in metro Detroit before joining Curtis & Curtis in 2008. As an attorney that represents local businesses, Brelinski serves on the Board of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and on its Economic Club committee. He is a member and former president of the Jackson County Bar Association; a board member of the Jackson Area Estate Planning Council; member of the Exchange Club of Jackson; immediate past president of the Cascades Humane Society; and a WMU Alumni Ambassador.
