Attorneys Laura Genovich and Liza Moore were elected as shareholders of Foster Swift Collins and Smith, PC.
Laura Genovich practices bankruptcy law, municipal law, and trial-level and appellate litigation in the firm's Grand Rapids office. In the area of bankruptcy, Genovich serves as a Chapter 7 (liquidation) trustee and as a Chapter 12 (farm and family fishermen) trustee for the Western District of Michigan, and she is the Chairperson of the Bankruptcy Section of the Federal Bar Association (W.D. Michigan). Genovich also represents cities, townships, and villages in a wide range of litigation and transactional matters. Genovich joined the firm in 2008 after graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, summa cum laude.
Liza Moore is a litigation attorney in the firm's Lansing office. Moore's civil litigation practice involves team representation of cities, villages, townships, schools, businesses, insurance companies, agribusinesses, farms and individuals in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate level. Moore also leads Foster Swift's Agricultural Law team. Moore worked with other agricultural law attorneys to create the Agricultural Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and was elected as the section's first chairperson. She is currently the section's secretary, serves on the Michigan FFA Foundation Board of Directors, and is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association and American Agricultural Law Association. She joined the firm in 2008 after graduating from the Indiana University School of Law Bloomington (Maurer School of Law), cum laude.
