What advice do you have for someone considering law school? If and when you enter law school, be sure you have a balance between your personal life and your school/work life. It’s too easy to get lost in the school/work life.
What is your happiest childhood memory? My grandfather collected old cars. He always allowed his sons and daughters to drive one of the cars in the hometown parade. Riding in the rumble seat was the best!
What would surprise people about your job? Probably that I don’t go to court as often as they think.
What do you wish someone would invent? The ability to add more hours to each day.
What has been your favorite year so far? I feel that each year gets better and better —so I will stick with the present year.
What is your most typical mood? Happy go-lucky!
Who is on your guest list for the ideal dinner party? I would love to invite my grandparents to dinner. It would mean everything to me for them to meet my daughters.
Why did you become a lawyer? I never thought about being a lawyer while I was growing up. However, I was lucky enough to have conversations and opportunities occur that prompted me to go to law school.
What’s the most awe-inspiring place you’ve ever been? I’ve been to the ocean several times. It always mesmerizes and amazes me.
What did you do last weekend? Enjoyed the beautiful spring weather and worked in the yard.
If you could have one super power, what would it be? Being in multiple places at the same time.
What would you say to your 16-year-old self? Be a kid! Adulthood and responsibilities come fast enough.
What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? Receiving a new client referral from an opposing party.
What do you do to relax? I love to get in the car and drive with the windows down and the music loud.
How would you describe your home? Warm, inviting and accepting.
Any regrets? No! If I regretted anything, that would change who I am today.
What is the best advice you ever received? “Live by your word.”
What word do you overuse? I probably overuse the word “Really?” After all, I do have three daughters that cause me to say that a few times.
What is one thing you would like to learn to do? If I could get over my fear of heights, I would like to skydive.
What do you drive? A 2006 Dodge Daytona Charger – yellow!
What would you drive if money were no object? I would love to have a new Shelby Mustang GT, or, better yet, I would love to have Eleanor, the 1967 Ford Mustang fastback in “Gone in 60 Seconds.”
Favorite place to spend money: I don’t need a favorite place to spend it. It just spends!
What is your favorite motto? Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift! (Wish I could give proper credit to the individual that first made that statement.)
What would you like carved onto your tombstone? “She loved life! Now go live yours!”
