MSU Law American Inn of Court is accepting applications

The MSU College of Law American Inn of Court is accepting applications for admission for the 2015-16 term.

The Inn meets monthly at the MSU College of Law from September to May over dinner for one-hour presentations by teams of law students and licensed attorneys on assorted topics of law and the legal practice.

Applications are welcome from any practicing attorney or judge.

Membership is limited, and the number of admissions is based on the number of available openings. Successful applicants are admitted as Law Students (2L and 3L), Associates (licensed 0-3 years), Barristers (licensed at least 3 years) or Masters (licensed 15 years or more). The range of members provides a solid basis for mentoring practitioners at the Associate level with special emphasis on Law Students.

Dues are assessed to defray the costs of dues paid to the American Inns of Court Foundation and monthly dinners. Dues are on a graduated basis depending upon the number of years in practice.

Started in the 1980s by Chief Justice Warren Burger, the American Inns of Court are designed to improve the skills, professionalism, and ethics of the bench and bar.
