The Jackson Area Recovery Committee will host a “Recovery Out Loud” Walk for Recovery at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, starting and ending at the Home of New Vision/Jackson Recovery Resource Center, 407 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson MI 49201.
This is a sober event for families, friends and allies, and includes a speaker, music and refreshments. Participation in the walk is not mandatory, and everyone is welcome.
The first 200 people to register will get free T-shirts.
Guest speakers include Pastor Bass, and Doug Rickman, substance abuse therapist at the Allegiance Addiction Recovery Center and a member of the Jackson County Recovery Court Team.
The Jackson Area Recovery Committee's vision is to eliminate the negative perception of addiction and enhance the face of recovery through community outreach with the goal of saving lives and families through advocacy and awareness of recovery from substance use disorder.
