For the second consecutive year, University of Michigan Law School alumni have been named the ‘Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40’ by the National LGBT Bar Association. And for the second year, Michigan Law—with five graduates—is the most-represented law school on the list.
Recipients are recognized by the LGBT Bar as those who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality.
This year’s honorees are Anna Baldwin, ’06, a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Voting Section; Tim Caballero, ’07, counsel at NBCUniversal; Emma Cheuse, ’06, a staff attorney with Earthjustice; Robert Koch, ’06, a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division; and Mike Schultz, ’09, an associate at Foley & Lardner LLP. They were recognized at the LGBT Bar’s Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair held on Aug. 6 in Chicago.
William Tran, ’06, who participated in the Lavender Law conference as a workshop panelist on intellectual property, was one of four Michigan Law alumni named to the ‘Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40’ list in 2014. Tran enjoyed sharing the recognition with this year’s Michigan Law awardees.
The National LGBT Bar Association is a national association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals, law students, activists, and affiliated lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender legal organizations.
The LGBT Bar promotes justice in and through the legal profession for the LGBT community in all its diversity.
