The American Bar Association has announced plans to offer a wide range of insurance products to its more than 400,000 members beginning early next year. Under a plan approved by the ABA’s Board of Governors, the ABA will sell up to 20 different insurance products to ABA members and their families. The first products will be offered in January 2016.
Working through an insurance broker, the ABA will offer most popular types of insurance used and requested by lawyers, including life, long-term disability, medical, Medicare supplemental, auto, home and long-term care.
The comprehensive menu of insurance offerings is being designed to meet the many professional and personal insurance needs of lawyers and their families. By offering such essential and affordable insurance options, the program will provide valuable new benefits that are attractive to both existing ABA members and prospective members.
“We know insurance is important to lawyers and their families. We want to make sure we give them access to the wide variety of insurance products they need at the best possible prices,” ABA President Paulette Brown said.
The ABA’s insurance program will also feature a dedicated call center and web portal to provide a state-of-the-art user experience.
