Favorite local hangouts: With my girls at the Hands-On Museum or out for ice cream at Blank Slate.

How would you describe your home? A work in progress, full of toys and books, and much roomier than our DC condo.

If you can help it, where will you never return? Certain corners of China, particularly the restaurant that tried to serve me something I'll refrain from describing in this publication.

Favorite place to spend money: I keep telling myself that one day I will have someplace to display all of the vintage U-M memorabilia I have procured (and continue to procure) from the Ann Arbor Sports Memorabilia Shop.

What word do you overuse? In my writing, I tend to overuse "indeed." If you read the transcript of the first deposition I took during my first year of practice, you might think I say "okay" all day long.

What is something most people don't know about you? I spent a good chunk of law school training as a boxer.

What is your most treasured material possession? My wedding ring, my kids' art, and other sentimental items of that nature. Also, a 1940 Life Magazine signed by Tom Harmon.

What has been your favorite year? Hard to pick just one. But 2015 has been nothing if not eventful: new jobs for myself and my wife, a cross-country move, a new baby, and buying a home in Ann Arbor. So far, so good!

What is one thing you would like to learn to do? Convince my children to peacefully go to bed and remain there for an entire night.

What advice do you have for someone considering law school? Stop reading the Washtenaw County Legal News and return to your LSAT prep book.

What do you do to relax? Cook.

What is your favorite quote? After tying weather balloons to his lawn chair and taking it for a brief jaunt, Lawn Chair Pilot Larry Walters was asked why he did it. His reply, as he was being taken away in handcuffs: "A man can't just sit around."

What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? I represented a client on pro bono basis who was the proposed guardian of a little girl in a bad situation. It was a long road, but eventually we won and my client was named guardian, giving that little girl a consistent caretaker and, for the first time, a stable home environment.
