The Flint Cultural Center is proud to present the annual Holiday Walk, December 1, 2015 5:30-8pm, a free community event. The community is invited to enjoy the beautifully decorated 33 acre campus complete with holiday light displays, festive music, holiday theatre performances, seasonal craft demonstrations, holiday planetarium samplers, refreshments, and Santa Claus himself! The City of Flint Police Chief James Tolbert and Santa will light the tree during our annual tree lighting ceremony at 5:15p.m. Santa will then make his way to The Whiting for family visits and free printed photo opportunities throughout the evening. There will be food trucks (Vehicle City Tacos, Big JJ BBQ, and The Stick It Truck) on the premise with food and beverages available for purchase.
The MTA is sponsoring a free shuttle bus that runs from the Flint Farmers’ Market on the corner of E 2nd Street and Wallenberg Street to the Flint Cultural Center running every 15 minutes starting at 5:15pm and ending at 7:45pm.
While this is a free community event, we encourage donations of non-perishable food or personal care items that will go to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. All buildings at the Flint Cultural Campus will be accepting donations through December 1, 2015. There will be a Food Bank of Eastern Michigan truck on campus December 1, 2015 that will accept the donations.
Holiday Walk is presented as a cooperative effort by The Flint Cultural Center Corporation, Ruth Mott Foundation Applewood, Flint Institute of Arts, Flint Institute of Music, Flint Public Library, Flint Youth Theatre, Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum, Buick Gallery, The Whiting, and Whaley Historic House Museum. Holiday Walk is sponsored by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation with media partners ABC12, Cars 108, and The View Newspaper Group.
