Barbieri receives Farhat Award

Charles “Chuck” Barbieri, a shareholder at Foster Swift Collins & Smith PC, in Lansing, was honored with the 2015 Leo A. Farhat award by the Ingham County Bar Association at the ICBA?121st annual dinner on Nov. 19 at the Crown Plaza in Lansing.

The award seeks to recognize an attorney who shows exceptional legal skill and gives back to their community.

A member of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group, Barbieri concentrates his law practice almost exclusively in environmental and First Amendment and media law matters.  His clients include municipalities, companies and individuals.

He is included in Best Lawyers®, SuperLawyers and is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell.

Barbieri, who earned his undergrad degree, magna cum laude, from DePauw University and his J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law, is an active member in the community and serves on the boards of numerous associations, including the State Bar of Michigan's Environmental Law Section. He is very active in the American Inns of Court at Michigan State University College of Law, and is serving for a second stint on the Ingham County Bar Association Board of Directors.

He is a member of The Peoples Church of East Lansing, and is a past Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 125 in Okemos.

He is also a frequent author of environmental issues and first amendment issues. Many of his articles are published in legal and trade publications throughout Michigan.
