Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint will host its 10th Annual Mentoring Inspiration Breakfast on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, 4100 S. Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48507.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the program beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. Dr. Umar Johnson will be the keynote speaker.
Dr. Umar Johnson, is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist who practices privately throughout Pennsylvania and lectures throughout the country. Dr. Johnson is a blood relative of Frederick Douglass, the great Black abolitionist and orator. As a school psychologist Umar evaluates children ages 3-21 in an effort to determine if they have educational disabilities and a need for special education services. Dr. Johnson is considered a national expert on learning disabilities and their effect on black children, as well an expert on helping schools and parents modify challenging behaviors that can ultimately lead to disruptive behavior disorder diagnoses in black boys.
