Bodman PLC attorney Michael R. Colasanti has been unanimously elected to the Michigan State University College of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors for a three-year term.
The MSU Alumni Association board leads and takes part in Alumni Association activities to grow and nurture alumni relationships, provide networking opportunities, and give support to student organizations.
Alumni who wish to make a positive impact on the College of Law after graduation are invited to serve on the Alumni Association board.
Board members assist with alumni programs and promote the College of Law by harnessing the influence, expertise, and resources of other MSU alumni.
Colasanti graduated from Michigan State University College of Law, summa cum laude, in 2012, joining Bodman shortly thereafter. He works in the firm’s Ann Arbor office.
He is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution and Insurance practice groups and represents clients involved in complex commercial litigation matters.
Colasanti, who is listed as a “Rising Star” in Michigan Super Lawyers 2015, earned his undergrad degree from the University of Colorado, and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Denver.
Before becoming an attorney, Colasanti worked as a policy analyst for non-profit and governmental institutions.
He focused his work on issues related to K-12 education and low-income energy assistance.
In law school, Colasanti was a member of the Michigan State Moot Court & Trial Advocacy Board, and a member and notes editor of the Michigan State Law Review.
He was also a Michigan State University College of Law King Scholar and received the Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law.
From May 2010 to September 2010, Colasanti interned at the Michigan Court of Appeals Research Division and served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Thomas Boyd and the Honorable Donald Allen of the 55th District Court in Michigan.
From September 2010 to December 2010, he also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable David McKeague of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
