The 17th Annual Signature Event sponsored by the Oakland County Bar Foundation was a sell-out affair, drawing more than 400 influential members of the legal community to Oakland Hills Country Club on May 6.

The event raised $307,105 for law-related programs across Oakland County, according to Bar Foundation President Chuck Moore.

“Every year, we are amazed at the outpouring of support we receive from our sponsors and donors,” said Moore. “This year was no different and we are thankful for the generosity that ensures that we are able to continue helping fund the local legal aid and education nonprofits that truly do amazing work.”

In total, $236,500 was raised from sponsorship funds and an additional $76,605 was generated in ticket sales and donations combined, for a grand total of $307,105, Moore indicated.

Since 2002, the OCBF has contributed more than $1.9 million to legal assistance and legal education programs in the area. Proceeds from events have funded grants to organizations such as Lakeshore Legal Aid, Michigan Civic Center for Education, HAVEN, and the RESTORE Foundation to name just a few of the “worthy recipients,” Moore said.
