The Oakland County Bar Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving the citizens of Oakland County and the legal profession, will host the 18th Annual Signature Event to help support Michigan-based legal aid and education programs on Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. Bar Foundation President Kaveh Kashef made the announcement.
“The Bar Foundation is proud to support programs in Oakland County and throughout Southeast Michigan that serve the community through free legal clinics, educational programming and equal access to justice,” said Kaveh Kashef, president of the OCBF. “With the help of our sponsors and partners in the area, we raised more than $300,000 at the 2016 Signature Event. The law and its impact on our lives is such a relevant topic, so we’ve made our fundraising target even higher this year to enable us to allocate more resources to people in need.”
Proceeds from past events have assisted the important work of the CASA Program [Court-Appointed Special Advocates] through CARE House, JARC, Michigan Center for Civic Education, Troy Historical Society, UDM Immigration Law Clinic and more. Last year’s event raised $307,000, and with the help of such sponsors as Stout Risius Ross, Inc. and Van Conway and Partners – both platinum sponsors for this year’s event – the Bar Foundation is confident this will be another successful fund-raiser.
Tickets to the Signature Event are $175 per person and may be purchased at www.ocba.org under the “Oakland County Bar Foundation” tab and by selecting “Signature Event,” or by sending payment to the Oakland County Bar Foundation, 1760 S. Telegraph Rd., Suite 100, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302. Those unable to attend the event but who wish to contribute to the charitable causes supported by the Bar Foundation can send contributions to the address above. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
