What are your most treasured possessions?
Lily and Iris, my Yellow Lab and Golden Retriever.

What advice do you have for someone considering law school?
Take your time. I didn’t go until I was 32.

Favorite local hangouts? I live out in the “country” in Monroe County and keep a boat at a local marina. I enjoy boating on Lake Erie, sometimes to the “islands”, although Put-in-Bay can be a little too crazy for me. I also like to go up north to my small cottage just east of Gaylord.

What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? Starting the firm.

Favorite websites?
CBSsports.com and www.mlive. com/tigers.

Who is the most interesting person you know?
Although I obviously never met him, my only idol is Abraham Lincoln.

What is your happiest childhood memory? Going to Tiger Stadium and the Olympia.  Neither team was good back then; but, I was, and still am, a passionate fan. I remember having one of my gloves signed by most of the Tigers, then going out and playing with it (wiping away most of the signatures) because we needed another glove…something only a kid would do.

What do you wish someone would invent? A cure for cancer.

Who is on your guest list for the ideal dinner party? My “buddies”—friends I have known since high school, and others I have met along the way.

What are the most awe-inspiring places you’ve ever been? Yellowstone National Park and Paris.

What do you do to relax? Watch sports, movies, hang out at home, travel, and visit with friends. I am a huge baseball fan.

What is one thing you would like to learn to do? Speak another language.

What’s the most exciting thing professionally?
Although the work is rewarding, I am not sure “exciting” is the best way to describe it, as it mostly involves conflict. I don’t think conflict should be described as exciting and usually a good settlement is not “exciting” as both parties are a little upset. We of course have to try cases as some cases just can’t settle; but, once again, calling that “exciting” is probably not the best word. So, the most exciting thing is taking time off to be with friends and family.
