The Salvation Army William Booth Legal Aid Clinic recently hosted its 5th Annual Walk for Justice at the Detroit Zoo. The fund-raising event was a bonafide success with nearly 500 generous supporters in attendance, including many local judges and other esteemed members of the legal community. Through the contributions of a cross section of business and individual sponsors, guests enjoyed live entertainment, refreshments and a bevy of impressive auction items to bid on including tickets to professional and collegiate sporting events, home goods, gift baskets and gift certificates to a wide variety of leisure activities and social outings at dozens of popular metropolitan venues and restaurants. Attendance and revenue for this year’s Walk for Justice surpassed all previous Clinic events, and, with continued contributions from supporters, expectations for next year’s Walk for Justice are even higher, according to Clinic Director Amy Roemer. Retired Oakland County Circuit Judge Fred Mester serves as chair of the Legal Aid Clinic.
