Plunkett Cooney expands Chicago office with addition of two firms

 Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, announces the expansion of its office in downtown Chicago, Illinois with the addition of attorneys and staff from the law firms of Crowley & Lamb, P.C. and Larson & Associates, P.C.

Effective Nov. 1, the following professionals joined Plunkett Cooney from the law offices of Crowley & Lamb, P.C.:

James M. Crowley joins the firm as a partner in the Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. A 1982 graduate of DePaul University College of Law, Crowley has over 35 years of experience representing financial institutions and other companies in business transactions, bankruptcy proceedings and commercial litigation. His practice also includes a particular focus on the construction industry where he has successfully represented contractors and engineers in a variety of transactional matters and litigation.

A partner in the Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, John F. Sullivan represents financial institutions, developers, title insurers, realtors and other commercial clients in litigation. With more than 20 years of experience, Sullivan maintains a vertically integrated practice offering his clients expertise with respect to regulatory compliance, trial counsel, appellate advocacy and business transactions.
Sullivan is a 1981 graduate of DePaul University College of Law.

Jennifer E. Walker is an associate in Plunkett Cooney’s Banking, Bank­ruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group who focuses her practice in the areas of residential and commercial mortgage foreclosure litigation and collection disputes. Her trial practice includes experience in the areas of fraud, breach of contract, mechanic’s lien disputes and creditors’ rights litigation. Walker is a 2009 graduate of DePaul University College of Law.

Matthew L. Hendricksen is an associate in the firm’s Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group who focuses his commercial litigation practice on the advocacy of large national banks and smaller regional banks, as well as other commercial clients in a variety of banking and business matters. Hendricksen is a 2008 graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He has successfully represented financial institutions and creditors in high exposure matters involving collections, bankruptcy, loan modifications, evictions and related appellate matters.

For nearly 40 years, Patrick D. Lamb has practiced in the state and federal courts in Illinois. He joins Plunkett Cooney as an of counsel attorney, providing extensive experience and expertise in the areas of commercial litigation, banking law, corporate and business law, real estate, trusts and probate issues, and general litigation. A former real estate broker and title examiner, Lamb has practical business experience having personally developed and owned commercial real estate. He is a 1980 graduate of John Marshall Law School.

The professionals joining Plunkett Cooney, effective Nov. 1, from the law practice of Larson & Associates include:

James A. Larson, a partner in the firm’s Title Insurance Practice Group, is an accomplished real estate and commercial litigation attorney whose practice extends throughout much of the state of Illinois. A 1987 graduate of University of Iowa College of Law, Larson focuses his real estate practice in the areas of property development, sales/acquisitions, leasing, title insurance defense and other real estate litigation. He also maintains an extensive lender services practice focused on foreclosures, evictions, REO closings, bankruptcy, lender liability and real estate litigation involving municipalities.

Timothy P. Collins is an associate who focuses his practice in the areas of insurance defense, real estate law and commercial litigation. He is a 2013 graduate of John Marshall Law School who has extensive experience representing lenders and property owners in litigation involving residential foreclosures, quiet title actions, breach of contract disputes and related-real property matters. His expertise includes handling all aspects of REO property transactions, collections and real estate matters, including leasing agreements and eviction proceedings.

An associate in the firm’s Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, Nathan B. Grzegorek focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense and real estate law. A 2011 John Marshall Law School graduate, Grzegorek’s litigation practice involves the representation of lenders and property owners in complex litigation matters. He also represents lenders in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy proceedings, and he has extensive experience representing victims of fraudulent wire transfer schemes.

Julie Handy is a paralegal who supports the members of Plunkett Cooney’s Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditor’s Rights and Transactional Law practice groups. With over 30 years of experience, her practice is focused in the areas of title insurance law, foreclosures and real estate law.
