Faculty members bring variety of professional experiences to newly appointed positions
Walsh College has named three of its faculty members to serve as department chairs. Richard Davidson, J.D., LL.M, CPA, and Ann Saurbier, D.M., will represent Taxation and Business Law, and Management, respectively, and John Moore, Ph.D, CPA, will serve as interim chair of Finance and Economics. Marsha Kelliher, Walsh College President and CEO, made the announcement.
“Our three new chairs bring a unique blend of teaching and professional experience to their respective departments,” said Kelliher. “Each one is a leader in their field and is capable of developing engaging and progressive elements to our curriculum to ensure academic success for every one of our students.”
As chair of their academic departments, each will be responsible for departmental activities, including managing faculty and staff, serving as the departmental representative to external stakeholders and advocating for the department to ensure the quality of programs and instruction.
Davidson is a practicing attorney who became a full-time faculty member two years ago. Before becoming an instructor, Davidson was Senior Tax Counsel for FCA US, where he managed their federal tax controversy area and provided transactional guidance to FCA corporate staff.
Dr. Moore joined Walsh as an adjunct finance and economics professor in 1994 and became a full-time faculty member in 2008. During his tenure, Dr. Moore has taught twenty different courses, served as the faculty advisor of the College’s Investment Club and serves on the boards of a number of professional and academic organizations throughout the community.
Dr. Saurbier, the Management department’s new chair, has been teaching at Walsh since 1997. She had an accomplished career in accounting in both the public sector and in higher education prior to joining the faculty and is a current member of the Academy of Management and the Alliance for Excellence in Online Education.
