The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is considering whether to grant a permit for an access road to be built through the critical dune adjacent to the former Bluffton School property. About 35 Beachwood-Bluffton neighbors and others got together Tuesday night at New Day Fellowship Church to hear the details from fellow resident Larry Page of the Pigeon Hill Alliance (standing in the photo below) and figure out how best to make comments on the permit.
There will be a hearing on the permit application Feb. 20 at 6:00 p.m. Though currently scheduled to be at the Muskegon City Hall commission chambers, Page is requesting a larger venue, but there should be notification at City Hall if that changes.
The Examiner will carry a more in-depth article in next week’s edition.
