Animal Advocates

On March 8, Michigan State University Animal Welfare Clinic students and Clinic Director Carney Anne Nasser testified in Tampa regarding a U.S. Department of Agriculture proposal that would reduce the frequency of inspections of puppy mills, circuses, roadside zoos, and other commercial animal facilities for compliance with the federal Animal Welfare Act. The AWA ensures animals intended for use in research facilities, exhibition purposes or as pets are provided humane care and treatment.
