A bra-decorating contest sponsored by the non-profit organization “It’s a Breast Thing,” will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Eagle Eye Golf Club, 15500 Chandler Rd, Bath Twp. Proceeds help provide grants to breast cancer patients in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham and Shiawassee counties who have monetary needs related to treatment. The contest’s theme is “Celebrate Survivorship” from state to state – with each bra themed after a state. Members of the WLAM Mid-Michigan region, assigned the state of Illinois, gathered at the home of Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Joyce Draganchuk to decorate a bra, with the theme, “Lady Lawyers Love the Land of Lincoln.” Each $1 donation entitles the donor to one vote. The top 12 vote getters will be featured in a calendar, and prizes awarded to the top 3 winners. Donations can be made at the event or by sending a check payable to “It’s a Breast Thing Non Profit” to WLAM Mid-Michigan Treasurer, Melanie Smith, 223 N. Jenison Ave., Lansing, MI 48915. The group hopes to raise $1,000. Pictured in back, l-r: Brittany Nichol, Colline DeVries-Burd, Katie Tucker, Susie Chalgian and Judge Joyce Draganchuk.
