Ingham County Bar Foundation announces 2019 grant recipients

The Ingham County Bar Foundation (ICBF) announced a list of six 2019 grant recipients, receiving grants totaling $16,500. Over the last 15 years, the Ingham County Bar Foundation has provided grants to various organizations in excess of $100,000.

This year’s recipients include the Friends of Ingham County Veterans Treatment Court, which received $5,000 as financial support for efforts to assist veterans with criminal court involvement, including emergency needs.

ICBF granted the Ingham County Treatment Courts Foundation $3,000 to continue their efforts in supporting local sobriety courts and the needs of participants.

The Ingham County Bar Association received a grant of $1,000 to help them continue to provide programs for attorneys in the greater Lansing area, specifically in support of the 2020 Bench bar Conference.

ICBF granted St. Vincent Catholic Charities $3,000 to assist in providing information to foreign nationals and refugees in the U.S. as to rights and obligations under U.S. law.

The ICBF granted Resolution Services of Central Michigan $3,000 to continue to help individuals, families, youth, businesses, and organizations resolve conflict through a variety of methods, including mediation, facilitation, restorative practices and training.

Lastly, the Firecracker Foundation, that provides holistic healing services to child survivors of sexual trauma under the age of 18 and their families in the tri-county area of Mid-Michigan, received a grant of $1,500.

The ICBF is a vehicle for lawyers and other interested citizens to make charitable contributions for the tangible, meaningful benefit of the greater Lansing community. The  mission is to: promote access to justice; expand availability of legal services to the public at large; support local charitable organizations; promote continuing legal education; and foster the honor and integrity of the profession of law.
