Attorney Jack Carver, a member of Bodman PLC practicing in the Ann Arbor office, has earned the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Developed and launched by the IAPP, the CIPP is the world’s first broad-based global privacy and data protection credentialing program. The CIPP/E is the first professional credential specific to European data protection professionals that is part of a comprehensive, principles-based framework and knowledge base in information privacy. The CIPP/E encompasses pan-European and national data protection laws, the
European model for privacy enforcement, key privacy terminology, and practical concepts concerning the protection of personal data and trans-border data flows.
Carver, who previously earned the CIPP/US credential, which demonstrates mastery of US privacy law, is a member of Bodman’s Business and Data Privacy and Security Practice Groups. He represents clients in general business transactions including matters involving corporate governance, commercial contractual issues, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and debt and equity financing. He also counsels clients on a broad range of data privacy and security matters, including compliance with the CCPA, GDPR, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, GLBA, and HIPAA.
Carver earned his undergrad degree from the University of Wisconsin and his JD from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as an associate editor of the Michigan Journal of Environmental and Administrative Law; and served as an intern for Judge Richard Conlin of Michigan's 14th District Court.
