Experienced tax attorney Shawn A. Strand joins Varnum's Ann Arbor office as partner

Shawn A. Strand has joined Varnum as partner. He is based in the Ann Arbor office and comes to the firm from Honigman LLP. 

Strand is an experienced tax attorney with a focus on corporate and partnership taxation issues. He advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, tax-exempt entities, individual tax collection matters and taxation of real estate transactions, including complex Section 1031 exchanges.

He also advises clients regarding federal income tax planning and entity structuring; and works with individuals on the formation and operation of family offices.

Strand graduated magna cum laude from University of Michigan Law School and received his undergraduate degree in computer science from the University of Michigan

He has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers for several years.
