The Mid-Michigan Treatment Courts Foundation held its 11th annual breakfast on Oct. 29 at the Country Club of Lansing, host-ed by WLNS/Channel 6 News Anchor, Sheri Jones.

The keynote speaker was Joshua Corts. Having battled addiction through most of his teens and into his early 20s, Corts has been in recovery for more than five years and uses his experience to help others as a Certified Peer Recovery Men-tor at the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties.

The Mid-Michigan Treat-ment Courts Foundation (for-merly Ingham County) is a char-itable organization that helps support local sobriety courts and participants by helping to allevi-ate everyday financial obstacles that may hinder progress towards sobriety. For example, the Foundation may assist with substance abuse counseling fees, dental work, bus passes, drug screenings, utility bills and other needs that threaten their ability to finish the intensive court-ordered program. Since the Foundation’s inception, there have been over 855 program graduates from around the Ingham County area.
