Okemos attorney Lawrence P. Nolan Sr. has been appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the State Officers Compensation Commission, effective immediately.
The president of Nolan Thomsen & Villas, Nolan holds a juris doctor degree from Cooley Law School and a bachelor of arts from Western Michigan University. He is a past president of the State Bar of Michigan and the Ingham County Bar Association.
His term on the Compensation Commission expires January 1, 2026.
The panel determines the salaries and expense allowances of the members of the Legislature, the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, and the justices of the Supreme Court.
