Book discussions begin for Muskegon County Community Read 2022

West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC) and the Michigan Chapter of the Sierra Club are sponsoring Muskegon County Community Read 2022 - What Future Will Muskegon County Choose, in partnership with Muskegon area libraries and the Book Nook and Java Shop in Montague. There are six book discussions scheduled, beginning with the first one at the White Lake Community Library on February 23, from 7to 8 PM, via Zoom. The last event is a trivia challenge with prizes, scheduled via Zoom from 7 to 8 PM, on March 31. For more information and to register for a book discussion or the trivia challenge, see Muskegon County Community Read.

The book chosen is The Future We Choose: Surviving the Climate Crisis by Christiana Figueres and Tom Rivett-Carnac (Knopf, 2020). The authors, who led negotiations for the historic 2015 Paris Agreement, have written an instructive and optimistic book about the crisis facing humanity, providing thoughtful guidance on what governments, corporations, and individuals can do to put the necessary climate solutions in place.
