The Arby’s Foundation is teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County to sponsor the 43rd Annual Gary Haggart Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser. The Arby’s Foundation-an independent branch of the Arby’s brand- was founded in 1986, as a charitable foundation that contributes to youth-related causes. A spokesperson for the Arby’s Foundation says, “Local Arby’s restaurants along with the Arby’s Foundation are excited for the opportunity to once again join in as this year’s Title Sponsor for the BBBS Bowl for Kid’s Sake fundraising event. Our involvement with the organization spans over 30 years and we continue to appreciate the dedication and hard work that everyone at Big Brothers Big Sisters provides in the Flint and Genesee county areas.”
The Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser allows community and corporate donors to join in supporting the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. The theme for this year’s event is The BIG Draft-a campaign aimed at engaging community members to join the Big Brothers Big Sisters team by participating in this event and raising pledges for the agency, and most importantly, a call for volunteer mentors for local youth.
The event takes place April 28-May 1, 2022, in-person at Galaxy Lanes in Grand Blanc. In preparation for the event, community members will coordinate bowling teams of five and raise pledges on behalf of the agency. Big Brothers Big Sisters encourages businesses and organizations, family and friends to team up and draft a bowling team or teams, and engage in friendly community competition by seeing which team can raise the most money. Teams can register for the event at bbbsflint.org. For more information on the event, call 810-235-0617 or email info@bbbsflint.org.
