Clark Hill has moved its Lansing office location to the Atrium Center in downtown Lansing. The Atrium Center was formerly known as the Strand Theatre, which opened in 1921.
“We’re thrilled with our new office in downtown Lansing,” said Lansing Member-in-Charge Charley Lawler. “The space combines modern amenities in a historic setting that will foster collaboration and camaraderie among our attorneys and staff.”
The new Lansing office spans 14,340 square feet of the theater’s former dance hall. An open floor plan features an updated interior design while retaining the historical dome ceiling and character of the former hall.
Along with the standard amenities, there are five conference rooms, a café overlooking the grand atrium, a casual loft area gathering space, two war rooms, 27 private offices, and eight operations workstations.
Now more than 100 years old, the Atrium Center opened as the Strand Theatre originally as a vaudeville house before converting to a movie theatre. After being named the Michigan Theatre in 1941, it closed as a movie house in 1980 before becoming a mixed-use office and retail complex in 1984.
“It’s very exciting to be a part of Lansing and Michigan history as new occupants of a celebrated building,” Lawler said. “The theatre has retained much of its classical charm, and we believe our team has seamlessly incorporated that character into our design and construction.”
