The CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund has donated $36,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters Flint and Genesee County. In 2022, the CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund gave more than $1.56 M to approximately 500 organizations across Canada. Additionally, the Community Fund organized its sixteenth CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge with a team of CN employees playing against former national Hockey League players with proceeds supporting charitable organizations committed to supporting and protecting children in Canada and the United States.
CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund, which has been in existence for more than 50 years, stands out as a Canadian leader due to its exemplary practices and is run by CN employees and pensioners acting on behalf of their colleagues and peers. Thanks to the generosity of CN employees and pensioners and the diligence of its many volunteers over the years, the Fund is one of the largest and most successful of its kind in Canada. The Fund is a non-profit organization that organizes fundraising activities and annual campaigns in support of various Canadian charities. Recently, the Fund was pleased to announce its launch in the United States.
“Mentorship plays a critical role in empowering our youth, especially now as young people navigate this new normal. They need the consistent support provided by mentors who are committed to defending the potential of our youth. Mentored youth have increased graduation rates, improved socio-emotional skills and higher self-esteem. This generous gift from CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund is an investment in youth empowerment. We are grateful to them for recognizing the role mentorship plays in protecting and defending our youth. Together, we can transform society through mentoring,” says Lisa Humphrey, President/CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Flint and Genesee County.
