Michigan State 67th House District Rep. Kara Hope presented a legislative tribute on Nov. 30 honoring WMU-Cooley’s 50th anniversary. A WMU-Cooley graduate, Hope represents the 67th House District, that includes Mason, Stockbridge, Leslie, Webberville, Williamston, Dansville, Holt, Onondaga and south Lansing in Ingham County. She served as a pre-hearing attorney in the Michigan Court of Appeals and later practiced legal defense before returning to WMU-Cooley as an adjunct professor. She started a solo practice in 2015, specializing in family law. Before being elected to the state legislature, she served as an Ingham County Commissioner from 2013 to 2018.
