Janetsky joins Ann Arbor City Attorney's Office as a Senior Assistant City Prosecutor

Jennifer Janetsky has joined the Ann Arbor City Attorney’s Office as a Senior Assistant City Prosecutor specializing in criminal law. She holds the position vacated by the election of Arianne Slay to the 22nd Circuit Court bench.

Janetsky has spent the majority of her career as a county prosecutor, most recently in Genesee County, and has always been a sex crimes specialist. She is a nationally recognized expert in the field of sex crimes prosecution, with a particular emphasis on the victim-centered, trauma-informed, offender-focused prosecution, and cases involving child victims.

She is an instructor for PAAM, SAKI, and MCOLES, and a presenter at conferences throughout the country.

In addition to her professional accomplish-ments, Janetsky is a proud Wolverine with deep ties to the City of Ann Arbor. She was born in Ann Arbor, raised in and around Ann Arbor, and earned both her undergraduate degrees and her law degree from the University of Michigan. She has a particular love of Michigan Hockey and the Michigan Marching Band.

Janetsky divides her free time between her two life-long hobbies: martial arts, and writing and performing as a solo singer/songwriter, and with her band, The Lucky Nows. She has been a regular performer at The Ark since her undergraduate years.

Janetsky and her husband Eric are raising their five kids to be active and engaged citizens who fight for the causes that matter most to them.
